Career Services and Placement Office (University of Nueva Caceres)

The Career Services and Placement Office, also known as the Career Center, is the primary university unit responsible for supporting the career development and employability of students and graduates of the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC). Established in 2014, it serves as a key bridge between the academic experience and the job market.

Services and Programs

The Career Services Office offers a comprehensive suite of programs and services tailored to enhance career readiness for students:

  • Career Counseling and Exploration
Counselors assist students in identifying career interests, values, and strengths using assessment tools and guided discussions. They help students align their academic and extracurricular decisions with long-term career goals.
  • Skill Development Workshops
The office conducts practical workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, and career planning to equip students with essential job-seeking skills.
  • Industry Immersion and On-the-Job Training (OJT)
Students receive hands-on workplace experience through internships or placements tailored to their field of study. These experiences often lead to employment opportunities.
  • Job and Internship Postings
The Career Center manages an updated board of job and internship listings, enabling students and alumni to explore opportunities relevant to their academic background and interests.
  • Annual Career Fair
The university hosts events connecting students and alumni with employers. The 2018 Career Fair, in collaboration with JobStreet.com, featured recruitment booths from national and multinational companies such as BDO, Sutherland, IBM, and JG Summit Petrochemicals.

Role in Career Development Ecosystem

Through systematic career guidance and employer engagement, the Career Services Office underpins UNC’s efforts to ensure high employment outcomes for graduates. It complements academically intensive programs like the Professional Employment Program (PEP), reinforcing UNC’s broader mission of producing “work-ready” graduates.
